unko stool
part of trampoline

A form carved around the body. Unko Stool takes its proportions from low meditation stools, inviting a way of sitting that feels closer to the ground and more connected to the body’s natural posture.

Moving between meditation stool, bathroom object and everyday seat, the piece lends itself to a variety of small domestic rituals: from reaching higher shelves in the kitchen to creating a more natural posture in the bathroom by raising the feet while seated. Approaching these everyday gestures with care and quiet attention, Unko Stool brings softness to functions that are often overlooked.

The seat is delicately hand-carved through radial markings that recall natural textures and the soft surfaces of mushrooms. In contrast, each leg carries its own irregular shape and grain, differing slightly from one another while together providing balance and stability.

The construction remains visible and direct. Each leg ends in a threaded wooden connection that screws directly into the underside of the seat, allowing the wood itself to become part of the joining system.
